Important Notice: Update for All J&K Government Employees, Check Here

The Government of Jammu & Kashmir has extended the deadline for filing annual property returns for its employees. In a recent notification issued by the General Administration Department, it was stated that the deadline for submitting property returns for the year 2023 has been extended.

Initially, employees were advised to file their property returns from January 1, 2024, to January 31, 2024, on the PRS Portal. However, due to various reasons, the timelines were extended to February 13, 2024, to February 27, 2024.

Despite the extension, many employees failed to meet the deadline, leading to a default in this mandatory process. Some employees even registered on the portal but did not submit their property returns, further contributing to the default.

The failure or non-submission of property returns by government employees can result in action under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Men and Public Servants Declaration of Assets Act and related rules.

After reconsideration by the General Administration Department, it has been decided to grant a final opportunity to defaulting employees. These employees will now have the chance to submit their property returns through the online mode on the Property Return System (PRS Portal) from March 3, 2024, to March 17, 2024.

Additionally, employees who registered on the portal but did not submit their returns are required to do so during this period. Unregistered employees must first register on the portal and then submit their property returns.

To address any issues related to OTP or technical support, employees are advised to update their current mobile numbers and email IDs on the CPIS portal. Disbursing Officers (DDOs) will facilitate this process. Employees can also forward their concerns to support-prs@jk.gov.in for speedy resolution.

Controlling Officers and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) are instructed to ensure compliance with property return filings by all defaulting employees in their establishment. Furthermore, Administrative Departments will monitor the progress in this regard.

This extension provides a final opportunity for employees to fulfill their mandatory obligation of filing property returns, ensuring transparency and accountability within the government sector.
